# Bridges Math

This year we will continue with the curriculum Bridges Math! This curriculum will provide many hands-on, valuable learning experiences to help your student have a deeper understanding of their math learning. The math learning center is a website in which you can find many math tools to support your student at home as well. Also, listed below are the math ELO's (expected learning outcomes) that your third grade student is expected to be able to master by the end of third grade. These are the standards that will also be seen on report cards. IXL is another great resource we will use in our class and encouraging your child to practice at home, if time permits,  is never a bad thing!:)  Please contact me with any challenges or questions you may have!

Math

Number & Operation

3.1.1.2

Use place value to describe whole numbers between 1000 and 100,000 terms of ten thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens and ones.

3.1.1.4

Round numbers to the nearest 10,000, 1000, 100 and 10.

Add and subtract multi-digit numbers, using efficient and generalizable procedures based on knowledge of place value, including standard algorithms.

Sketch polygons with a given number of sides or vertices (corners), such as pentagons, hexagons and octagons.

Understand how to interpret number sentences involving multiplication and division basic facts and unknowns. Create real-world situations to represent number sentences.

Find the perimeter of a polygon by adding the lengths of the sides.
