Volunteer Opportunities
Every volunteer is a very important person in our district. We encourage everyone – young and old to consider these exciting volunteer opportunities. Volunteer for an hour a day, an hour a week, or an hour a year. No task is too small. In return, we hope you will be rewarded with the satisfaction of helping others, meeting new friends, increasing your understanding of what’s going on at school, developing new skills, pursuing your interests and hobbies, and passing on a bit of yourself to a young person.
Volunteer opportunities at the Elementary School include:
- Classroom helpers
- Read with students, help with classroom projects, field trips, etc.
- Foster Grandparents & RSVP Volunteers
- Work in school library – help with book fairs
- Long Lake trip chaperones
- PTO activities
Our school takes part in the national Foster Grandparent Program. Volunteer senior citizens listen to students read and assist in individual or small group completion of tasks in the classroom. The children call the volunteers “Grandpa and Grandma” and grow very attached to these special helpers.
Please contact the school (726-2320) if you are interested in volunteer opportunities.
