I am excited and ready to make the 2020-2021 school year a great year for students!
A LITTLE BACKGOUND ABOUT ME
I am Mrs. Karen Wells and I am one of the Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) for the LCWM School District. This will be my fourth year teaching in the LCWM School District.
I grew up in Nebraska in a small town named Steinauer (less than 100 people :). After graduating from high school, I attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology. I then worked in a facility for adults with cognitive and physical challenges as a Psychological Services Assistant for 5 years, before attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE where I received my Master's of Science in Speech Pathology. I worked as an SLP at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE for five months and then moved to the Mankato area (I met my future husband while attending UNL and he moved back to Mankato to teach at Minnesota State University, Mankato.) I worked as an SLP in Mankato Public Schools for six years before staying home with our two boys. While in Mankato, I worked with students from ages 2 to 21.
My husband, Mike, and our two boys, Zack and Lucas, live outside of Rapidan. Zack and Lucas attend school in the LCWM school district.
