Welcome to the 2020/2021 school year! I'm thrilled to be starting another great year and blessed to be working at a job I love in such a great community.  This will be my seventh year here at LCWM. I know this year will look a little different for all of us, but I'm excited for the new adventure.
I grew up in Blue Earth, MN and graduated from Minnesota State University-Mankato with a Bachelors degree in Social Work. My husband, Derek and I have two little boys, who keep us very busy. Luke will be three in a couple months and Karter is 6 months old.  We enjoy spending time with our family, friends, and being on the lake. We love to attend any sporting event, especially the MN Vikings and MN Twins. We have a loveable five year old lab named Remmy, who is 125 lbs and still thinks he's a lap dog! :)
I know this year has a lot of unknowns, which can bring upon a lot of feelings and mixed emotions. Please reach out if your child is struggling in any way and I will be happy to assist. School will look a little different this year, so it's okay to have mixed feelings and uncertainty. However, we are doing our best to make it as fun and normal as possible.
As a school social worker, I can offer a variety of resources and benefits to you and your child. Please look through this site to learn more about what I do and some of the resources available, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments.Part of my role is to meet with students when they may be struggling or just need someone to talk to and listen. I meet with kids for so many different reasons that it's tough to name every specific reason. However, I see students in groups throughout the year for family change/divorce topics, friendship, as well as social skills groups. I also meet with students individually to build skills on a 1 on 1 basis. Some of the topics can range from friendships, mental health, anxiety, bullying, home life, and behaviors just to name a few. I also head into classrooms throughout the year and talk to students regarding various topics that the teacher may request.
Feel free to call/text or email me during school hours 7:30-3:30.

School Social Workers are a vital part of the total educational team of our schools. They work with teachers, administrators, counselors, psychologists, nurses and other staff. School Social Workers link home, school and community through the use of assessment, consultation, and coordination of services and referrals to community resources. School Social Workers are professionally trained to understand the needs of students who present problems that interfere with learning.

This webpage is designed to give you the most information possible in order to access the services that will best meet those needs. It is designed as a resource/reference for staff, families and community members. This site will be updated often with additional links and resources so check back often for current information and resources. This list is not all-inclusive.

Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School is not responsible for resources that are no longer available, but we will make our best effort at keeping the site up to date, listing only the resources we believe to be currently available.
